For eight years I taught Italian at Stroud College, and for many years I ran classes across the Stroud area. Today my lessons are online — which means students in Stroud, Nailsworth, Painswick, Minchinhampton and the rest of the Five Valleys can carry on learning Italian with me from home, without the drive.
An online lesson works the way my classroom lessons always did: small groups, my own materials rather than a generic textbook, and the content built around what you actually want to talk about. Many of my students had never learned a language online before — we take the first session slowly, so the technology stops being the point.
